This is a different book than the usual trading psychology books in market. For the same reason this is a unique book that I think each active trader needs to have in his bookshelf. I had a difficult time to connect with the book for the first ~20 pages and didn’t get the point. But it started to make a whole lot of sense quickly. What makes this book different and necessary for traders in my opinion is the anecdotal examples for almost every similar situation that an active trader soon or late experience. You need to look at this book as a group therapy session with fellow traders sharing their experiences which comes with psychoanalysis too. I think this book is especially useful for retail traders who don’t have access to support groups like professional trader at the big firms. The stories and analysis stick in your head effectively. Reading common trading psychology books is barely effective, a retail day trader needs a picture (a story) in his head in order to understand and control his emotion during volatile times, having abstract concepts in the head never cuts it! I started as a day trader with little experience. It doesn’t take much experience to press a, “buy”, button. But, I know myself well enough and within a few short weeks realized I need to master my psychology. Oddly enough, within a few days, Andrew Aziz announced this publication. I immediately bought it. Over the course of 2 months and while reading books on TA, I read this very slowly and precisely. This book is SPOT ON and should be the FIRST book that any aspiring day trader should read. From averaging down to over trading to hitting goal, it covers the psychological aspect of EVERYTHING a developing trader goes through - and more! Highly recommended.
